Hadoop and Globus - Distributed Computing and Knowledge Discovery

Labels: , ,

As the Fall semester comes to an end, I am starting to put in place all the necessary tools and reading pretty much everything on Distributed Computing and Distributed Knowledge Discovery for my thesis. The original idea was to go full swing this semester but the classes I was taking left me with little time to focus on my thesis. As a result, I mostly read papers and books in the two fields stated above.

I read the Big Switch - mostly as a motivation. On my desk right now I have "Advances in Distributed and Parallel Knowledge Discovery " and "Data Mining: Next Generation Challenges and Future Directions."

I will use Hadoop to build a grid probably on the university network. I will provide more details later.
